FULFILLING THE HEART'S DESIRES OF THE LITTLE BIG FIGHTERS
Congenital, sometimes incurable diseases and disabilities, strokes of fate, difficult family circumstances - children who have to bear great challenges in their lives, baggage that is incredibly tough. A normal day as most people live - unimaginable for these children.
Making wishes come true for disadvantaged children at Christmas and making children's eyes shine, that was the idea behind the repeating of our wonderful iPEK Christmas wish campaign.
Regionally Support
This year, we organised the campaign also across all locations, because we wanted to support disadvantaged children regionally in the local areas of our branches too. At the locations, we were able to convince many disadvantaged children to take part in this great campaign via the Bärenherz Children's Hospice in Leipzig, the St. Antonius Children's Home in Karlsruhe and the ifs Austria (Institute for Social Services) in Kleinwalsertal.
DESIGN OF THE WISH LISTS
Nursing staff and caregivers created, crafted and painted the wish lists to the Christ Child for and together with the children. Their wishes were for toys, activities, and time together through excursions.
Unfortunately, the preparation and execution were limited due to the ongoing pandemic situation, but this didn’t stop the participants from giving their very best.
The fulfillment of wishes
Shortly, after the campaign had started, Christmas post already fluttered into our houses. From then on, Christmas trees, decorated with wish lists, were placed in the entrance halls of our locations and all employees could take wish lists from these trees and fulfil them.
One by one, presents came back under the trees and were handed over and distributed to the institutions and their children - right in time for Christmas.
The total sum of the Christmas wish campaign came to an approximate donation value of € 1,500.
Many thanks to all who supported this wonderful action and who helped to make it possible!
